Research and Education

At GSD we believe in working with the future generation of academics, land managers, environmental scientists and educators. We have been involved in a number of education and research projects over the years. Currently we are busy on the ECHOES project (multi-partner Ireland-Wales INTERREG project) and the EO4ESD project (Erasmus+).

We provide project management services on these projects as well as the expert knowledge in all things spatial as well as support the development of applications and programmes that aim to increase knowledge of Earth Observation and Climate Change amongst those involved. We also lead on, for example, stakeholder engagement work, collaboration with a variety of partners and organising online and in-person events with stakeholders.

  • ECHOES

ECHOES (Effect of climate change on bird habitats around the Irish Sea) seeks to address how climate change will impact coastal bird habitats of the Irish Sea, and what effect this could have on our society, economy, and shared ecosystems.

  • EO4Edu

EO4Edu is an Erasmus+ project focused on Earth Observation (EO) for Education. The project's main components include the principles of remote sensing, geospatial science, global citizenship and satellite EO.

  • CS4ESD

CS4ESD (Citizen Science for Education in Sustainable Development) is a three-year Erasmus+ project that is a collaboration between schools, universities and organisations in Wales (UK), the Basque Country (Spain) and Greece.
