EO4Edu - Erasmus +

EO4Edu is an Erasmus+ project focused on Earth Observation (EO) for Education. The project's main components include the principles of remote sensing, geospatial science, global citizenship and satellite EO. The project enables teachers to give lessons involving EO by developing resources and providing training for teachers in both school and non-school institutions. Citizen science is also an important element of the project, with the use of mobile apps enabling the collection of environmental data to promote the concept of global citizenship and our collective responsibility to protect and enhance our natural environment. The project promotes the application of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) within the curricula, with the most relevant being:

  • Goal 6 - Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation.

  • Goal 13 - Take urgent action to combat climate change.

  • Goal 15 - Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat deforestation, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
